It must be plated with rhodium to achieve it's distinct color. Then there's platinum. Platinum is extremely pure and heavier than gold. It is almost the same color as white gold but much more durable and dazzling. Platinum is also much more expensive. However, it represents the finest in precious metals for wedding jewelry.

The majority of engagement rings in the average diamond wedding ring set feature a single diamond that can range in size from one-eighth of a carat to one or more carats. The higher the carat weight, the larger the diamond. Diamonds are not only judged on their carat weight, but their cut, clarity and color. Choosing a diamond ring is a matter of preference.
